The Modern Interventional Diagnosis and Treatment in Gastroenterology is a scientific and technological medical journal first created by the Guangdong Provincial Health Commission, and is currently being managed the Institute of Digestive Diseases, Nanfang Hospital, Southern Medical University under the patronship of the Guangdong Provincial Medical Academic Exchange Center. The journal was founded in 1996 and has been publicly released at both home and abroad since 2002. It is published monthly. The domestic unified number is CN 44-1580 / R, and the international standard number is ISSN 1672-2159. In 2018, it won the Guangdong Provincial Excellent Journal Award.

The journal reports chiefly on theoretical research and sharing of clinical experience with the aim to disseminate scientific and technological achievements, strengthen academic exchanges, and ultimately promote a modern diagnosis and treatment of digestive diseases through inspiring development in science and technology in the field. This journal focuses on the gastrointestinal tract, but also pays attention to hepatobiliary and pancreatic conditions. The academic feature of this journal is interventional medicine, and the characteristic content being minimally invasive interventional diagnosis and treatment, which is mostly represented by progress in digestive endoscopy, ultrasonography and intervention radiology.
